Q1. How did you get started in table tennis?
I began playing table tennis when I was six years old. My father played the sport, and one day I found an old racket in a bunker in my room. I started hitting a small ball against the wall, and my father noticed my interest. That simple moment sparked my journey.
Q2. What is your nickname?
My father calls me “Tito” after a famous Puerto Rican world champion boxer. Although it doesn’t relate to my appearance, he sees in me the mental toughness and strength reminiscent of that boxer.
Q3. Who are some players you look up to?
I learn from many players. I admire individuals like Ovtcharov, Franziska, and Zhang Jike. However, I especially relate to one player whose mental strength mirrors my own. I also draw a lot of inspiration from my cousin, Adriana Diaz.
Q4. What kind of person is Adriana Diaz?
I’ve seen her grow up and understand the game deeply; her ability to read key moments is something I strive to emulate.
Q5. What is the characteristic of your play?
I'm an offensive, powerful player who relies on a varied service and a strong third-ball attack. My backhand is also a key asset.

Q6. Please tell us about the equipment you are using.
I use a Viscaria blade with Dignics 05 on both sides. This setup enhances the spin, especially in my serves and third-ball attacks. It's the best way to describe my game, and my racket is perfectly suited for this style of play.
Q7. Where do you usually practice?
I usually practice in Montpellier, France. I also play the highest league in France with Lebrun brothers.
Q8. Please tell us your best game ever.
Defeating Hugo Calderano at the World Championships in South Africa was a career highlight. It was an intense match against a top-ranked player, and winning that battle was incredibly rewarding.
Q9. Who would you like to play against?
Dima. Dimitrij Ovtcharov.
Q10. Who do you get along with?
I have many friends. Lebrun brothers are one of them, and other french players as well. But the closest friends are of course in Puerto Rico national team. I think also every player is very friendly and every player can be a good friend as well.
Q11. What are your favorite countries to visit, and what do you love about them?
Outside of Puerto Rico, my top choices are Japan, Sweden, and France. I admire Japan for its cleanliness, excellent food, and warm people. Sweden felt like a second home during the years I lived there, and France—where I currently reside—offers great food and a vibrant culture.
Q12. How do you spend your days off?
I cherish time with my three-year-old daughter Antonella. Whether it’s playing, going for walks, or simply enjoying her company, spending time with her is the most important part of my day.
Q13. What is your hobby?
I love reading—especially self-development books—and listening to music. When preparing for a match, I prefer classical music without lyrics to stay focused. I also enjoy walking, drinking coffee, and photography.
Q14. What is your favourite book (author) ?
I enjoy reading self-development and philosophy books. They offer insights into personal growth and mental resilience. One book that particularly influenced me is Score, a recommendation from one of my mentors.
Q15. What kind of music do you listen to before a match?
I prefer listening to instrumental classical music before a match. It helps me relax and maintain focus. During my free time, I sometimes enjoy genres like hip-hop as well.
Q16. What is your favourite food?
I enjoy a variety of cuisines depending on where I am. In Puerto Rico, I love the traditional dishes, but when I’m abroad, sushi is often my favorite due to its fresh flavors and elegant presentation.
Q17. What is your favourite movie?
I’m a big fan of movies like Gladiator and Interstellar. Both films inspire me with their themes of determination, strength, and overcoming adversity.
Q18. What is your favourite sport?
While table tennis is my passion, I also love basketball—especially since it’s very popular in Puerto Rico. I also follow baseball closely, as the competitive spirit in these sports is truly inspiring.
Q19. What is your dream for the future?
Beyond the sport, I hope to live a fulfilling life filled with meaningful moments with my family, make a positive impact in my community, and inspire others to pursue their passions relentlessly. Ultimately, I want to be remembered not just for my achievements on the table but also for the positive influence I have on those around me.
Q20. What are your goals as a table tennis player?
My main goal is to break into the top 20 in the world and eventually become a Pan-American champion. I’m dedicated to representing Puerto Rico to the best of my ability while continuously improving my skills.
Q21. Please give some message to your fans.
I encourage everyone to persevere in everything they do—whether it’s sports, studies, or personal challenges. Always give your best and never stop improving. Thank you for your support!
